Travel vaccine

Hepatitis B is a serious viral infection of the liver spread through blood and bodily fluids — via medical or dental treatment, tattoos, piercings, or sexual contact. It is much more common in Asia and Africa than in the UK and can cause chronic liver disease.
Recommended for longer or frequent trips, healthcare and volunteer placements, anyone considering tattoos or piercings abroad, and travellers going overseas for medical or dental treatment.
Three doses. The standard course runs over 6 months; an accelerated course (0, 7, 21 days plus a 12-month booster) suits travellers on shorter notice.
Travelling in a few weeks or a few months? Either way, we can help. Coming in four to six weeks ahead gives the most flexibility for any multi-dose courses.
Flying sooner — even this week? Please still book. We offer rapid and accelerated courses, and most travellers can be vaccinated on the same day as their appointment. Many single-dose vaccines provide protection quickly.
Had some vaccines before? Bring your records and we will check what is still in date. Often a single booster is all that is needed, and that can be given at the same visit.
A straightforward visit, usually 15–20 minutes, with no obligation to have anything you do not need.
Where you are going, what you will be doing and how long for. Bring any vaccination records you have.
Our pharmacist checks your itinerary and health history against current UK travel health guidance, and explains what is worth having.
Most vaccines are given there and then. If a rapid or accelerated course suits you better, we will plan it around your travel date.
Our pharmacist will confirm at your risk assessment — there is no obligation to have anything you do not need.
